Interior Cleaning

Vacuum your vehicle regularly. Dirt actually acts as an abrasive and can accelerate carpet and upholstery wear. Don’t forget to vacuum under the seat, between the seats and console, and in the folds/creases of the upholstery. Debris in these areas (especially crumbs) is attractive to ants and can cause odors. A shot of Febreeze on the carpets and seats (if cloth) after vacuuming can help avoid that musty smell.

interiorClean up any spills as soon as possible with a dry cloth or towel to absorb the liquid. Start by blotting to avoid smearing the spill. For stains, use automotive upholstery cleaner. Follow the cleaner’s directions, and always test in a hidden area. Start small and use mild solutions first.

For leather upholstery, wiping with a damp cloth is usually all that is necessary. Avoid over wetting the surface or using soap and chemicals as this can lead to staining. For stubborn spots; use a product specifically designed for leather and follow the directions on the container. These products can be found at your local auto parts store.

When cleaning windows, spray the cleaner on the towel first and not the glass to avoid staining trim panels and dashes. Mild household window cleaner is ok for non tinted windows. If you have aftermarket tinted windows, avoid commercial window cleaners, especially those with ammonia. They can discolor tint film. Try a weak solution of mild soap and water or a window cleaner that states it is safe for tinted windows. Do not use window cleaner on instrument clusters, dashes, or trim panels as it may discolor or damage the surface.
