Protection
Many people take very good care of their vehicle, but don’t think about protecting their investment. A few simple steps can go a long way in ensuring your vehicle is protected and safe.
• Always lock your vehicle when unattended and keep your keys with you.
• Never leave your keys in the vehicle or leave it running to go into a convenience store, etc. It takes less than 10 seconds for someone to jump in and drive off.
• Always store valuables out of sight. Laptops, purses, navigation units, Ipods, etc. are very attractive to thieves when viewed from the window. If you have a removable faceplate sound system, always remove the faceplate. It’s worthless to thieves without it.
• Use an accessory theft deterrent (such as a Club or steering wheel bar) if you have an older vehicle without an alarm or park in an area that is prone to theft. A thief will look for the easiest vehicle to steal. The more obstacles you use; the less attractive your vehicle is to thieves.
• Park in well lit populated areas whenever possible.
