native of Lantz, Thane began work in auto body
repair as a young man, and enjoyed it so much
he eventually "took the trade" at
the Colchester Regional Vocational College in
Truro. He completed his MVRT (Motor
Vehicle Repair Technician), qualifications in
1981 and went to work for a local auto body
shop to gain practical experience. In
1988 he and co-worker Robert Wilson decided it
was time to strike out on their own and they
opened R/T Auto Body on Isenor Road in
Lantz. As business grew they eventually
moved to the current location in Elmsdale.
Despite
spending most of his work time in a garage,
Thane is a keen outdoorsman, and enjoys
fishing & hunting in his spare time.

Another
"lad from Lantz" Robert also had an
early interest in auto body work. Like Thane
he became qualified as a MVRT at the Truro
Vocational College and then put in many years
learning the practical application of the
trade. He worked with Thane at a local shop
until they were ready to set up in business for
themselves in Lantz. It wasn't long before
they outgrew their original shop and moved to the
current location in Elmsdale, which itself
underwent substantial expansion in 2003.
Today, Robert is recognized by his peers in the
trade as a local expert; he has even assisted in
re-writing & updating the Motor Vehicle
Painting Technician exam for the Vocational
College!
Like Thane, he is
an avid woodsman, enjoying hunting and fishing for
relaxation.

Also
born
and raised in Lantz, Mary Ann was a "stay at
home mom" when husband Thane decided to open
an auto body shop with partner Robert.
Mary Ann was invited to run the office and now
handles all calls, reception, bookings and
accounting for the company. As her
participation in the company grew she took her certification in the Shoplink,
Photolink and ADPE (internet based) estimation
software, and is now one of our qualified
estimators.
It's Mary Ann whom
you'll deal with when you first call or drop into
the shop; and great customer service is one of her
top priorities!
